Nugumi

For non-native professionals on Mac

Confidence before you send, reply, or click.

Know what to say or click in another language. Nugumi helps when translation is not enough: understand context, choose a low-risk reply, and know the safe next action — right inside the Mac app you're using.

Understand

Read any language in any Mac app.

Select text in Slack, Gmail, Notion, GitHub, PDFs, or a website. Nugumi translates it into your language — or explains dense text in plain words.

Write

Write naturally. Send professionally.

Draft in the language that feels easiest. Nugumi rewrites it into clear work-ready English, Korean, Japanese, or your target language.

Reply

Answer messages faster.

Select an incoming message and Nugumi drafts a reply in your style. Edit it, then send with confidence.

Ask Nugumi

Know what to click on foreign screens.

Press Control twice and ask about the visible screen: warnings, forms, menus, websites, or buttons. Nugumi explains the context and next action.

Approach

The AI layer between your cursor and language work.

Nugumi is not another chat box. It turns the text you selected or the screen you asked about into the next useful action.

Built for non-native work.

For people who write, read, and reply across languages every day.

Works where you work.

No browser extension. No per-app setup. If you can select text, Nugumi can help.

More than translation.

It helps with meaning, tone, replies, and confusing interfaces.

No prompt loop.

Select text, click the action, get the result. No copy-paste into ChatGPT.

How it works

One small companion. Four actions.

  1. 1

    Select text.

In any Mac app: chat, mail, PDF, browser, or code editor.

  2. 2

    Left-click to understand.

Translate into your language or simplify dense writing.

  3. 3

    Right-click to rewrite.

Make your draft clear, natural, and ready to send.

  4. 4

    Control twice to ask.

Ask what a screen means and what to click next.

Model setup

Use Nugumi the way you already use AI.

Start with the setup that matches your privacy, quality, and cost needs. You can change it later.

Use your ChatGPT subscription

Good default if you already pay for ChatGPT and want strong cloud models.

Run locally with Ollama

Best when privacy or cost matters. Text actions can stay on your Mac.

Connect your own API key

Use direct cloud providers when you want control over model, speed, and billing.

Questions, answered.

How is this different from Google Translate or ChatGPT?

Google Translate mostly translates. ChatGPT is powerful, but it lives in another tab. Nugumi sits next to the text or screen you are already working with and runs the right action from a click.

Where does Nugumi run?

You choose: ChatGPT subscription, local Ollama, or your own API key. Use Ollama for private local text actions. Use ChatGPT or an API key for stronger cloud models and vision.

Can Nugumi understand websites or screenshots?

Yes. Ask Nugumi can read the visible screen when you explicitly ask a question like “What does this warning mean?” or “Where do I click?”

Is my screen sent to the cloud?

Only when you ask a screen question and use a cloud vision model. Text actions can run locally with Ollama.

Which apps does it work in?

Every macOS app with selectable text: Slack, Gmail, Safari, Chrome, Notion, Notes, Mail, VS Code, PDFs, Discord, Telegram, and more.

Is Nugumi free?

Yes. Nugumi is free during early beta. You choose the model setup and any provider costs.

Work across languages, where you already are.

Try Nugumi on your next foreign work thread, important draft, unread reply, or confusing website.
